We offer a unique program for children that are bilingual, which focuses on enriching their vocabulary as well as developing their writing and reading skills.
We also offer classes for children that are starting to learn a second language. They learn in a natural way by immersion in the language.
Children that are just starting to learn a second language are in the same class as bilingual children. We work the vocabulary as a group and then divide the class in small groups according to the children's knowledge of the language.
Our classes are designed around the culture of the country or countries in which the language is spoken. Children learn history, geography, about holidays, literature, music and they even get to cook foods from these countries.
We offer Portuguese and Spanish and plan on adding more languages. Please let us know if you're interested in a specific language. |

Methodology
We believe in letting children explore the language they're studying in different ways. We provide a variety of materials each class so children can engage in writing, reading, spelling, grammar, history, geography and literature.
Each class is divided in vocabulary enrichment and language workshop. During Vocabulary Enrichment, children explore the vocabulary through art, crafts, games, science, cooking, music. Language workshops (for Elementary only) are rotated, so each class, students will participate in a different workshop. (Spelling, Reading, Writing and Grammar).
We use a variety of materials such as magnetic boards and letters for spelling, white boards, flashcards, maps, games, word puzzles, stories, music, videos. Our curriculum offers hands-on in class activities. Worksheets are usually sent home as homework. In class we want children to interact, talk, solve problems, and work in groups or pair. We believe this method allows children to learn naturally and provide more opportunities for practicing their language skills. |
